A Word from the Presidents
Hej Alla,
I hope all of you had a relaxing Labor Day weekend.
This week has been very exciting because of President Obama’s historic visit to Sweden as his trip marks the first-ever bilateral visit by a U.S. President to Sweden. You can read more about his trip further down in this newsletter.
We are looking forward for another “Pay It Forward” networking event at the Satellite space in Santa Monica. The previous ones have been very popular and the Incubate and Accelerate edition is supposed to be the biggest one so far. Hurry up and register for the FREE tickets, they are going fast.
Marie Wennergren is the last piece in the puzzle of Marketing Managers this fall. In this newsletter you can read about her exchange studies in Seoul, work experience within Trading, M.Sc. studies and her expectations for the 6 months at SACC-LA. Welcome Marie !!

Incubate, Accelerate and Pay it Forward for Businesses

We are proud to co-promote another great Pay it Forward event together with Your Office Agent, Satellite and Lounge 3110. This Pay if Forward for Business event is supposed to be the biggest so far and the free tickets are going fast so hurry up to register! The event is all about bringing the biggest businesses, mentors and angel investors in Santa Monica together to give free advice and help for your business to keep growing. It is an outstanding event for you who wish to keep expanding your business and personal network. There will be lots of give aways, raffles and free drinks. Any drinks you may want on top of the free ones are to happy hour prices.

Abba Fest at the Hollywood Bowl

Our Marketing Manager
Marie Wennergren
Marie Wennergren discovered her interest in international business and cross-cultural meetings after her exchange studies in Seoul, Republic of Korea. At SACC-LA she therefore hopes to gain more insight in international business and trade from a U.S. perspective. Marie is about to finish her M.Sc. in Business and Economics at Stockholm University, specializing in finance. Next to her studies she has been working at the division Active Trading at the Swedish bank SEB. Also, at the student association of Stockholm University School of Business Marie has been working as a project leader as well as serving on the board of directors.
Marie is convinced that SACC-LA will provide her a valuable life experience, both in terms of her career and personal development. During the next six months she is dedicated to support and secure the future growth of SACC-LA. When Marie is not working she enjoys doing all kinds of different sports and spending time with friends and family.

“Growing up in northern Sweden meant that game, mostly moose meat, Arctic char, wild mushrooms and reindeer were staples on our table. The curiosity for food from different cultures started when traveling to Greece, Germany and Spain. After moving to Stockholm I was exposed to a great creative restaurant scene. I have worked in pretty much every position imaginable in restaurants, in NYC and Los Angeles. From 2007 through 2009 I owned my own company running two ski resort establishments In Åre, Sweden.
I’m sometimes considered to opinionated over food served. I don’t think that is true! I trust my palate and think I have just the right standards that should be required to serve food in a restaurant. To venture into this project has come together in a really great way, the right space, the right partners and a great response from people already. I know it takes effort to make this happen but I’m confident that this is the right time.”
