I can’t believe that it is already Friday, again. Happy Friday !!
First I would like to highlight the clip from CNN on Sweden further down in this newsletter, we’ll also post this on our website and Facebook page for you who would like to share and re watch.
Swedish Minister for Trade, Dr. Ewa Björling made history this week as she was in New York, ringing in NASDAQ. As many of you remember, Dr. Björling was kind enough to visit SACC-LA in June of this year, during The Swedish Affär and our annual meeting. Proud that Sweden is being recognized for continuing the positive trend in trade relations with The United States.

Low Fare Direct Flights, Stockholm – LA
From March 2, 2014 Norwegian will operate two weekly flights between Stockholm (ARN) and Los Angeles (LAX) – on Wednesdays and Sundays. On April 30, the number of weekly flights increases to three – with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The introductory fare is only $236 one way. There are currently no other airlines offering non-stop flights from Stockholm to Los Angeles so we think that this will be very happy news for the swedish community in LA.

Swedish Pop Band Nervous Nellie in LA
According to the US Blog Pigeons and Planes the Swedish Nervous Nellie is 1 of 20 Scandinavian artists you should know about alongside Icona Pop, The Knife, Miike Snow, Lykke Li, Say Lou Lou, Elliphant and Robyn. They are currently in the U.S. for a series of shows and will visit LA and play at Bardot‘s “School Night” on September the 23rd.
“It’s pretty much every Swedish bands dream to have a go in the US, Los Angeles & New York in particular, so we are excited for sure! Everything in this buisness is a gamble, which makes it fun, it just feels like the right time to put everything on red, white & blue and see what might come out of it. Also, it will help pro-long our summer, it’s more or less fall here already…” says Henrik Jonzon, vocals/guitarr, Nervous Nellie.
