Leif G.W. Persson’s books goes Hollywood

20th Century Fox TV has bought the rights to a series of books by Swedish criminologist and author Leif G.W. Persson.  Stephen Gaghan will lead the TV project based on Persson’s books that will air next season.  The central character, Evert Bäcksträm, is an equal-opportunity misanthrope, always miserable, and only a good murder case can cheer him up.  The books are very popular in Scandinavia, where more than 6 million copies have been sold.  We are looking forward to follow the Swedish crime story on Fox next season!

The best (and worst) Swedish music of 2013
The Local’s Paul Connolly runs the rule over the top tunes to have caught his ear throughout 2013 from a glorious goth album to a whistling advert-friendly track. He reckons Laleh went a ‘bit Coldplay’ while the less said about US favourite Avicii the better.
